Movie Review: Darkness Reigns

So, let me ask you this.  If you had to pick a location, where would you want to film your horror movie?  In a crazy haunted location obviously, am I right?  Seriously, what could go wrong?  Well, watch Darkness Reigns, due to be released on July 10, 2018, and find out! On the surface, the film’s premise appears relatively straightforward: a film crew is on the set of their newest indie horror movie (a haunted hotel) and a malevolent force makes itself known.

Movie Reivew: Troll, Inc.

Trolls. Love ’em or hate ‘em, they’re a constant feature of online communication. But those people who just love to stir up trouble in Facebook comment sections or discussion forums? They’re barely rank amateurs. Real trolls, like Andrew “Weev” Auernheimer, are several cuts above the rest, turning trolling into an art form. In fact, Troll Inc., a documentary released on May 22, 2018, focuses on exactly what it was that put Aurnheimer behind bars. In 2011, the FBI arrested Auernheimer for his pa

Movie Review: The Jurassic Games

Do you love the Jurassic Park franchise?  Are you a fan of The Hunger Games?  Well then you, my friend, are going to love Uncork’d Entertainment’s newest science-fiction thriller!  Coming to Video-on-Demand this summer, The Jurassic Games is a fun low-budget film that pits murderer against dinosaur. Movie Review: The Nursery

I think it’s safe to say that I am a die-hard horror fan.  As such, I’ve watched some terrible films and some good ones.  And to be honest, there are very few horror films I would outright write off as being too bad to watch.  Luckily, The Nursery, coming to video-on-demand on June 5, 2018, is not one of those films.  No, it’s not stellar…but it’s not bad either. College student Ranae arrives at the home of Roman and Tanya, where she’ll be babysitting their three-month old baby Miller.  Shortly

Movie Review: Island Zero

Released in select theaters May 2018, Island Zero is the first feature film ever produced by Donkey Universe Films.  And I have to say, they have done a spectacular job. The film opens with a man and his dog on a boat drifting near a small island just off the coast of Maine.  As he goes below deck for another drink, his dog mysteriously disappears.  All that’s left is a blood-soaked doggie life-vest.  A few days later, the islanders find themselves suddenly unable to contact or return to the ma

Movie Review: Soft Matter

An angry sea-god, crazy scientists, and a couple of graffiti artists. What could go wrong with that combo, eh? That, gentle readers, is exactly the question that tonight’s low-budget film Soft Matter tries to answer. Distributed by Wild Eye Releasing and produced by Demon Janx, the film is set to release sometime in 2018. Soft Matter is a weird movie. I won’t lie—I am so stunned by what I just watched that I’m not even certain how this review is going to go. I’m pretty sure my reaction was 50%
